Having trouble with my Creative Sound Card?

I just recently upgraded my sound card to a Creative Sound Blaster Elite Pro, however it seems like i get the full potential in my headphones, but when i unplug them to hear what i just recorded, it sounds like it is holding back a LOT! I dont hardly hear any b at all, it really sucks. How do I adjust my settings in my audio creation console to where i hear everything to its full potential like i should...with out the headphones?
