Why was Kobe Bryant not drafted higher than 13th?

I don't get how he was not in the top 5 picks? There were some crappy players pickd before him.Marcus Camby, Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Stephon Marbury, Antoine Walker, Lorenzon Wright, Kerry Kittles, Samaki Walker, Erick Dampier, Vitaly Potapenko! Really? While not all those players were crappy they were nothing compared to what Kobe turned out to be. I just don't get how he ended up at 13.
