AZTEC TEMPLES LASTING IMPACT?

Aztec temples--those peculiar, not over-roomy edifices on the tops of Aztec pyramids which sheltered the effigies of Aztec gods--were the first things completely destroyed by the Spanish during the Conquest. Not a vestige was left of them, consequently they had no impact, lasting or otherwise, and they were in no sense a turning point.
