The Aztecs and Mayans made a drink called cocoatl made from the beans of a cacao tree. In 1528 the Spanish brought the concotion which is chocolate back with them to Spain. In France chocolate debuted in a royal wedding. From then in 1662 it made its way to England as chocolate.
