Add videos from Ares to ipod?

I downloaded some videos from Ares. Then i moved them to Itunes. After that I tried to put them onto my ipod but it said the video was not copied to the ipod because it cannot be played on this ipod. So what is the problem? Is there anything I can do to get it to play on my ipod?
